Hello! Welcome back to my blog, I've missed you! So once again I am taking a different step from my normal routine, as we were given a project that included editing some of the pictures we took for our Visual Scavenger Hunt Slide show! These two photos I am posting to this blog are my favorites, and down below i will attach the original photos as well as the edited versions, as well as a description about them and some questions I had to answer!

This is my first edit of my project. I loved this one, as I made a lot of changes, but they only come off as subtle! I don't exactly remember what I used in this edit, but I will try to the best of my ability to remember what it is.
In this edit, I: turned the contrast up and the brightness down, sharpened the rock itself so that it wouldn't blend in with the blurriness, turn up red highlights as well as mid-tones and shadows, and then I did the same for green. I turned up the vibrance so that it would make the colors pop. That is pretty much for the editing portion of this photo!
I chose these edits because, when you look at the original photo, the natural colors from the rock were dull, and I knew that I wanted to make the reds stand out more. If you can also see from the original photo, the green overtook the photo, and rather than emphasize it, I knew that I wanted it to be a background color, more than the main focus. I also chose these edits to emphasize the shape, line and texture in the picture.

This is my second edit that I favorite. I liked this edit because it really brings out the contrast between the mushroom and the grass. I also like this edit because it brings out a sense of individuality, being the mushroom all alone in the blades of grass. Without the edit, I would think that it wouldn't be as important.
In this edit, I added sharpness to the mushroom to bring out all of the details that are on it. I also blurred out the blades of grass that were in front of the mushroom. I turned up contrast, as well as turned brightness down.
I chose these edits because I knew that I wanted to make the mushroom stand out from the blades of grass. I also took picture at this angle because I knew that adding the perspective would make the mushroom pop. I also chose to edit this picture this way because the brightness of the original picture just didn't give us any interesting details, but I think that with this edit, it definitely draws in the audience to the picture. I also think that with the texture and contrast in this picture, it is alluring.

I really like the mushroom image. The way you made it dark and brought out the details of the mushroom makes it really stand out a lot.
Hi Kirstien! I specifically really loved your picture of the mushroom. The way you added sharpness to the mushroom and then blurred out some of the grass leaves gives such dimension to the image! I really really love it. It looks so realistic, yet has a moody vibe.
